In the picture above (maybe 1986?), Matt flies a stock-framed Triumph 650 at DeAnza Cycle Park in southern California. DeAnza was a challenging place to race; the surface was both muddy and hardpacked -- during the same race. The square-edged ruts, bumps and ridges just added to the adventure of racing there. Like so many tracks, DeAnza is gone, possibly even a landfill now (or worse, a housing tract!), but the memories and the bikes linger...
